My friend Kirk Bloodsworth up there was the first death row Prisoner to be exonerated by DNA evidence. He Started an organization called “witness to innocence” which is made up of all death Row exonerees, and he literally stomped out the death penalty in the state of Maryland. He’s one of my absolute heros. This world is a far better place with Kirk Bloodsworth in it, alive and stomping.

Hello, Pitchforks! Thank you for your interest in Jeff’s case. He has reached the Federal level in the appeal process, however, newly discovered evidence must be litigated by the Mississippi Supreme Court. Fortunately, that will all be made available to the public. Attorney General Jim Hood’s office tried to have a Motion to Seal placed on the proceedings this summer, which is almost unheard of in a death penalty appeal. The Federal judge did not entertain it and immediately turned the motion down, but the fact that the A.G. wanted to hide the record from the public is telling, I think. What do they not want the public to know? Regardless, if the Mississippi Supreme Court does not grant Jeff a hearing based on the new evidence, it will all go before the Federal Judge. I am confident that the Federal judge will grant Jeff a hearing that could lead to his conviction being overturned or a new trial. The state could not convict him again in a million years, especially since Hayne has submitted an affidavit stating that he never thought a sexual assault had occurred and that his original opinion as to the cause of death “was probably not correct”. We are very hopeful that Jeff will get the justice he, and the family of Chloe Britt so rightfully deserve. Again, thank you kindly for your interest! ~Lori~

I appreciate your kind wishes but I after my experience I consider myself fortunate not to have been executed. The corruption is out of control if you don’t have the resources to purchase the prosecutor and the Judge you are guilty. It is not about the truth it’s about the money or the publicity the soulless can get to further their own careers. Sadly, this is what happens when the wealthy become too wealthy.

Hello Lagypsyrose (love the name). I thought Pinocchio was so fitting for this case, but I also thought the original version of the story truly depicts the depravity of the prosecution and courts in Jeffrey’s case. No empathy, No sense of right or wrong. Pure selfish stubbornness.

Honesty SHOULD be the foundation of all justice systems, and as we are learning, this is so often not the case. Who is really pulling Pinocchio’s strings? Until this article, I only had a very surface understanding of shaken baby syndrome and how wrongly it was being used in trials. I suspect tunnel vision occurs more often in the case of children deaths than it does for any other cases.

Thank you for the compliment about imagery. I think in images. It seems the best way I have for making sense of things!

This sort of behavior by prosecutors and so called “Judges” is rampant all over our country. All they care about is publicity and accepting bribes from wealthy defendants not Justice. They have no souls. How could anyone live with themselves after having another human being executed? Last time I checked I didn’t see the word “God” next to their names.
